Inman Park Festival

Had a great time this weekend at the Inman Park Festival. Saw so many old friends I hadn't seen in quite some time.

A few of us were hanging out and I brought up the sifter thing on the tracks and we got into this big conversation about it. A couple of friends had noticed it too.

In a crazy twist, an older lady that was standing behind us joined in the conversation.
She told us that she had lived in that neighborhood for 45 years and that she remembered the lady that built the thing. She said she believed her name was Louise "Lou" Taylor. I was blown away. Finally someone with some serious information. She took my number and said she would talk to some of the other long term neighbors and get back to me. She said there was quite a story attached to that thing....sadly she had to leave.

Louise "Lou" Taylor.

What started out as a very scattered idea for a blog about my daily life has almost completely turned into a blog about this thing that Louise "Lou" Taylor made.

We hung out for a couple more hours at the festival and headed home.

Happy Easter Everyone

Happy Easter Everyone.

What a perfect day in Atlanta, The weather is why I like it here in April.

Had an interesting encounter today while taking the short cut on the tracks.
I was passing that "sifting thing" and I noticed a man over there looking at it.
I couldn't resist so I went over and asked him if he knew anything about it
that I thought it must have something to do with the railroad.
He said that he had lived in the area for several years and that some of the older
residents of the neighborhood told him that this "sifter" had been built by a lady
back in the early 50's. He said that he had been told the whole story but didn't really
remember much. He took my email address and said he would email me when he
got more information or talked to his neighbors.

OK, now I am really confused. So some lady built this tall thing by the tracks
in the 50's.

Anyway....the rest of the day was pretty much overshadowed by this information.
I have come up with so many ideas about this. Will post anything I hear or find out.

Hope everyone is out enjoying this perfect April day.
